Griffin, Georgia

7AM...68deg...88% humidity.
I'm out to Griffin Regional Radiation Treatment Center. Last night I flew-in from DFW with a 1 hour delay due a young lady passing out in the aisle of the plane while holding her infant.
The baby was OK though, but the mother was escorted off the plane with child which means our plane had to get back in-line on the runway and wait 55 min. to take-off. What do I do? I roll with broseph. Unpack the iPod and jam to Airport 5 for 50 min. This is really an attempt to the drown the lady next to me who seems to not have had an enjoyable experience inher life...especially this flight. I like the way some people unnecessarily embellish the facts. "No, that's not how it happened." Oh, well, her problem becomes my competition. We finally take-off and I accept my glass of water because that's what I want in return. Water in return.
I am meeting my trainer for my first internal training. This training will be for hardware and it's really just for me to observe and hang back and see how customer training is done. I'm a bit nervous being my first time and also my trainer sounds really stiff and Northern.
It turns out I was right, at first, she calls me after she arrives and says she wearing a green sweater set. Green sweater set? "So look for lots of green.". OK. I spot her and we introduce ourselves. She gets her bag from the carousel. And we head out to the rental car a Toyota Corolla. It's about an hour ride to the hotel Hampton Inn. I'm starving and we go to Applebee's down the road. I have the Weight Watcher's chicken quesadilla and she has the spinach and artichoke dip. My dinner was eh, the whole wheat tortilla was too dry and tough and the chicken seasoning was very thin tasting and cheap. And the salsa exactly what I would expect from Applebee's in Griffin, GA. Nighty-night.
I wake-up at 6:40AM shower etc. and go to the lobby for a free breakfast, now that's what I'm talking about! I grab a couple eggs and a couple sausage patties, a cup of coffee, and a couple strawberry/banana yogurts. Eat, hop on the smokin' wireless in the lobby and check some email and review the days training schedule.
We find the site after a couple wrong turns only to arrive 20 min. the staff to be trained and wait in the parking lot. So, for most of the morning I hang-back and watch. I field a couple questions from the staff and we go to lunch...fairly uneventful really. We find our way to a sandwich shop, Rachel's voted best Deli and Bakery in 2002 by the readers of the Griffin Daily News. And it was good. I ordered a roast beef on toasted low-carb wheat bread with a side of broccoli-cheese soup instead of chips. No Sun Chips here. Sun Chips are my faves since they're made from whole grains. We have a conversation about religious fanaticism.
Return to the clinic and train the second group without much ado and head back to the hotel. I promptly hit the fitness room and get on their True treadmill, stair climber and bicycle. No elliptical here. I'm listening to Blink-182 and Underworld for this work-out. Underworld's "Kittens" pushes me to extend my work-out by 2 minutes because it's such a pumping song and I don't want to stop moving while it plays. In order to destroy everything I worked for I eat dinner at Taco Bell. I talk to the wife and son about getting a dog then watch another awesome movie..."The Machinist". This is the movie Christian Bale loses weight to be 120 pounds for. What a feat of discipline and dedication. I'm gonna try that too....OK, I give up.
