EMusic, Zoloft, iTunes

Yo,
I say, there's something to be said about free music, anti-depressants and random music selection from your own music library.
Emusic will give you 50 free mp3s as a trial offer for their mp3 download service that you would eventually need to pay a monthly fee for should you decide to stay with Emusic. I was looking for some nice upbeat electronic songs for my workout and found this offer to be the perfect opportunity not only to get that music, but to try some new on for size free of charge and guilt-free. Guilt-free as in not illegally downloading it. So, I grabbed my 50 free mp3s and got the hell outta there. Emusic's selection is not as wide as I would like or expect, but it sufficed for what I was looking for at the time. I am disappointed by the fact that I couldn't find the new Depeche Mode album, "Playing the Angel". I did find something cool though, it's Drum n' Bass DJ called DJ Rap, these pretty too. Very juicy Dn'B with great rhythms and awesome bass sounds, stuff you can really sink your teeth into, not a stiff programmers tinkerings on their high-end electronics. There were surprisingly slim pickin's though as well, but I managed to fulfill my 50 song quota. I also grabbed the newest Ladytron called "Witching Hour", which kicks so much ass. What I like about the latest Ladytron is it's a bit more analog and emotive. These new songs aren't quite as stiff and Krautrock-ish as their previous releases. I've always dug Ladytron, but as a guitar-player I can really get into these new songs. I also grabbed one of the Fugazi albums I didn't already own called, "The Argument". I haven't got the chance to listen to this, but will I be disappointed? I doubt it. Fugazi is a band that deserves every ounce of respect they get and more. They've set an unattainable presidence for all indie bands, or for any band that claims they're indie. In fact, Fugazi started the indie band ethic as far as "keeping it real", doing it D.I.Y, giving back to their fans etc. And to think the word "fugazi" was originated by U.S soldiers in Viet Nam for a f'ed up situation...there's nothing f'ed up about Fugazi except for some of Canty's rhythms.
I like the Zoloft. It's puts a nice temper on my world and they way I absorb it. It also helps me ignore the negative and focus on the positive. I still have some bad days, but all-in-all it helps. The only thing I might miss is that my songs aren't as emotional, and for lack of a better word, sad, but that's sort of a good thing because I can write about other ideas in my head that don't seem so whiny. Seems most if not all of my songs are portrayed from the victims point of view, which I'm tired of. It has helped me get in touch with my more aggressive side for which I would like to put into my music.
iTunes. I like the iTunes if not solely for it's "Party Shuffle" feature which it selects about 20 songs at random from my library. If you don't like the mix it chooses you can "Refresh" it and it will pull 20 different songs. Since it's random you get to here songs you ripped years ago that you haven't heard since. It's especially good for giving face-time to those numbers you downloaded in one of those late-night download binges from which you don't even recall what you grabbed. And since my entire CD library is in iTunes now I get to listen to stuff I've owned for years and passed over for the newer stuff. CDs you didn't deem worthy for putting into the car CD wallet, even for roadtrips.

My name is Steven Martin and i would like to show you my personal experience with Zoloft.

I am 35 years old. Have been on Zoloft for 7 months now. This med did clear up the PPD, but weaning off of it has been absolute HELL. I got/am still getting the "zaps" that so many others talk about. Had I known it would be like this, I would have requested a different med. I will NEVER take this med again under any circumstances!

I have experienced some of these side effects -
Weight loss, upset stomach

I hope this information will be useful to others,
Steven Martin
