Grumpy Old Man

Boysh. These past two nights haved sucked for me. I haven't been able to sleep at all. I have this bad cough that keeps me up all night. I can't lie recumbent, supine, prone or in the Simms position. I need to be elevated at least 45 degrees before the mucus irritating my bronchus is stable and doesn't stimulate the villi in my trachea and lungs. The first night I downed some Mytussin that I've had for about a year for the same symptoms. A Dr. I worked with wrote the Rx for me. That would have worked fine but I took it too late. It' kicked-in around 6AM and I had to wake-up at around 6:30AM to get Christian off to school. So, tonight I'm up blogging for I can't lie down. This morning I found some Mucinex in the cabinet (you should see our cabinet, it's disgustingly filled with all kinds of meds, both herbal and synthetic). This stuff causes you to cough-up whatever is in you that causes you congestion. Kinda gross actually , but it works...I guess. In addition to all that I've chugging tea like a Chinaman in the desert. This is aggravating to say the least. I have a lot of work to do, and I'm too tired to do it because I'm sleep deprived. This all got started with a great night-out with my wife and best friend. We made an evening of drinks, food, music, shopping and just hanging-out. We went to Chuy's for Texas Martinis with chips and dips, then Fadi's for the most awesome Mediterranean food I've ever had, then Elbow Room for some more drinks and darts and finally Double-Wide for some hanging-out [DARYL] music and Golden Falcons. By the end of the night (2AM) I noticed I was losing my voice. The next morning it was still missing. That day was New Year's Eve and I needed to party, voiceless or not the show must go on. That attitude didn't win my voice back and here I am on Jan. 3rd w/o a voice and a serious cough.
